Independence Day July 20, 2011

History tells us that it all started with a flower vase.  It was that Friday - July 20th and also a "market day" - when a native borrow it. An act, apparently ephemeral, sparked a confrontation between natives and Spanish, and it culminated in the independence of our beautiful country...Colombia!
However, it is clear now that what happened that day was not a spontaneous event like those that had characterized colonial politics. It was the result of several circumstances that occurred and led a major rebellion of the people.

Thats how we wanted the kids of Arenales to understand how we became free, using different activities for them to learn by playing.

Independence Day in Arenales

On July 20th, we will be celebrating in Arenales, Colombia’s Independence Day by teaching the children a little something about our beautiful country and its history.  The celebration will be from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, where we’ll have different activities looking for a great result where kids can learn by having fun.


You can help too! We receive all kind of toys, clothes and candies. We also receive money that will be destined to this kind of events.Help us and our children. It’s possible to create culture and art by cooperating with others.
